Before you write
The three that account for most of the mail
- Why is the map blank in flight? Download the region pack
- The map draws from packs stored on your phone, and nothing can be fetched at cruise altitude. Download the world basemap and the region pack for your route while you still have wifi on the ground, and the map draws for the whole flight.
- Why is there no position at all? Location must stay on
- Airplane Mode and Location Services are separate switches. Airplane Mode is fine — GPS only receives — but Location has to stay on, and a few phones need it re-enabled once after Airplane Mode goes on. A window seat also acquires a fix faster than a middle seat, because the fuselage is metal.
- Why was my flight not saved? Free tier saves 5, or 15 with ads
- The free tier saves your first 5 flights as a lifetime total, and a rewarded ad in the travel log unlocks more, up to 15. Past that the flight is still recorded, not discarded — it unlocks the moment you upgrade. A session too short to produce a real GPS trace does not count as a flight.
